Advanced Embedded Systems Management Capabilities:

IDRAC 9.0 with LifeCycle controller provides extensive embedded systems management capabilities, allowing you to control the system remotely or on-site. The iDRAC interface, which functions independently of the operating system, can deploy, configure, update, manage, and diagnose faults. Locking side panel, Locking front bezel, Kensington lock slot, TPM 1.2/2.0 optional, Cryptographically signed firmware, Hardware Root of Trust, Secure Boot, System Lockdown, and System Erase are all included to protect your data.

Integrated Options to Ease Your Usage:

The system includes a dual-port 1GbE network interface, but you can add up to five PCIe add-on cards. Five PCIe 3.0 slots allow you to expand by adding more NICs, HBAs, Fibre Channel, GPUs, and internal and external PERC 9.0 or PERC 10.0 RAID controllers. To connect various external devices, the system has five USB 2.0 and three USB 3.0 ports distributed between the front and back of the machine. The system can support up to two GPUs but requires a 1100W power supply. Remote access with an enterprise license is possible via the system's dedicated iDRAC connection on the rear.

Super-Fast Bootup:

BOSS, or Boot Optimized Storage Subsystems, provides super-fast bootup and HWRAID for two M.2 storage devices of 120GB or 240GB. You can choose an inbuilt Dual SD Card Module with vFlash for hypervisor support, providing failsafe redundancy when utilized in mirror mode. The iDSDCM's vFlash module has 16GB of storage. There are several historical storage HD/RAID controllers supported, as well as three updated versions, the S140, H740P, and for external storage, the H840, which can support up to 255 storage devices and may be linked with the Dell PowerVault MD14XX storage enclosure for direct-attached storage (DAS). A 12Gb/s SAS HBA enables network-attached storage (NAS). NUMA (Non-Uniform Memory Architecture) is supported.

Flexible Storage Options:

The Dell T440 tower server provides administrators with several storage options. It will support either hot-swap or cabled drives, with the latter being mounted in an internal drive carrier. There are two chassis, each supporting four or eight 3.5-inch SAS or SATA HDDs or SSDs for a total storage capacity of up to 80TB. You can also use an optional 2.5-inch drive adaptor to install 2.5-inch drives in the 3.5-inch drive slots. Another alternative has up to 16x 2.5-inch disk bays and a storage capacity of 61TB. Administrators can also install a PCIe M.2 storage device as an option.
